The families we borrowed.
Some of the trees published on Our Many Names are not families at all. They are drawn from novels, comics, films and television — House Targaryen, the Skywalkers, the Uzumaki. They are here because a family tree is easiest to read when you already know the people in it, and because a house that has married itself for three hundred years shows what the canvas can do in a way an invented example never will.
We do not own any of them, and we do not claim to.
Our Many Names asserts no ownership of, and no rights in, the works listed below or the characters that appear in them. Each remains the property of its author and rights holders. Nothing here is licensed, authorised, sponsored or endorsed by them, and no association or partnership is implied. Names and titles are used only descriptively, to say which family a given tree depicts; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
What these trees actually contain is relationships — who is whose parent, who married whom, who taught whom — recorded as links and dates, the same way a genealogist records a historical family. They carry no text from the works, no artwork, no photographs and no other material from them. They are shown free of charge, as illustration and reference, and are not sold or licensed to anyone.
Trees built by families about their own relatives are theirs, and nothing on this page applies to them.

If one of these is yours
If you hold rights in a work shown here and would rather it were not, write to hej@webatelier.dk and say which tree. We will take it down promptly, and we do not need to be persuaded — these trees are a demonstration, and no demonstration is worth arguing over.
